The RV Duke

Although we use a variety of different foam types in each of our mattresses they all provide comfort, support, and pressure-relief to your body, while you sleep. We have used different descriptive words to assist with your choices, such as Latex Foam feeling slightly "bouncy" to your touch or when you move on the mattress, and MemGel Swirl Foam feeling "Huggy" like your body is being gently hugged by the form fitting foam while you sleep.

If you have a bed frame and a box spring from an older mattress set then you can certainly use it with your new Foam King mattress.  As long as the box spring is not broken or bent it should be fine and will not void your mattress warranty.  You can also use a slat bed frame that has no boxspring.  The slats need to be less than 3" a part so that your mattress does not sag through the gap between them.

For RV or camper mattresses do not lay your mattress directly onto a sheet of plywood, or the condensation created from your body heat when using the mattress might cause a mold problem on your mattress.  To rectify this situation lay about five or six 1" x 4" pieces of slat wood on top of the plywood to allow better air circulation under your mattress.  Mold growth on your mattress will void your warranty.

All of our mattresses are designed to give you complete support with various comfort, or luxury layers of foam on the top of the mattress.  We have been asked by some customers to make a mattress that is all comfort foam. They have said "I would like a memory foam mattress, all memory foam and nothing else!" We would caution them against this because if your mattress consisted of 10" of memory foam and nothing else, it would be like sleeping in a ditch!  Your body would sink into that foam the full 10" and you would have troubles turning over, or getting out of bed.  It is imperative to have support foams under your luxury, softer feeling top foam.  Each Foam King mattress has been structurally engineered to supply the best combination of support along with that luxury feel our customers love.

To ensure you get the most out of your mattress, it's important to seasonally flip and or rotate it throughout the year. If your mattress is multi-layered, you should only be rotating it. If you have a single layered mattress (The Duke for example), we recommend switching between rotating and flipping it. All of this tough work is designed to even out your mattress use, helping it stay comfy for years to come.

If you have to store your mattress for a long period of time, we strongly recommend standing it upright. This is to help reduce the amount of harm done to it if there is any water that reaches the bottom from a flood or leak. This is especially relevant for your RV mattresses.

With the proper care, your Foam King mattress can last upwards of 15 years or more. The lifespan of your foam mattress is largely influenced by the care you put into it, and the quality of foam used for the layers. To ensure you get a long lasting lifespan from your bed, we only use industry leading practices in the creation of our various foam types we offer.

After over 25 years of offering foam mattresses, we have only recently begun to see some returning, happy faces coming back for their next Foam King mattress! 

The cover can be washed in a normal setting, using warm water. Then, hang to air dry for maximum longevity.
